Configuring Xilica Gio USB in Designer Software

Edited

Gio USB is a 2x2 USB audio to Dante, Dante to USB audio interface for connecting USB audio to an Ethernet network. Note that Gio USB cannot be used as a generic USB extender.

Gio USB is configured using Xilica Designer software. When powered on and connected to the same local area network as your host computer, the device will appear in Designer's Network View alongside other Solaro and third-party Dante-enabled devices.

Naming

To customize your Gio USB name, double-click on the Gio USB icon in Network View to enter Device Setup. Additional device information and configuration options are available here as well.

Identifying

To flash the front panel LED of a Gio USB, right-click on the appropriate Gio USB icon in Designer's Network View, then choose "flash front panel." This is particularly helpful in systems with multiple Gio USBs to identify and match them to the virtual device in software.

Programming

From Project View, drag a Gio USB module onto the design screen. Double-click on the module to access the device's configurable parameters.

Mapping

To match or "map" a physical device to the virtual device in software:

  1. Ensure the device is powered on

  2. Verify it's on the appropriate network and visible in Designer's Network View

  3. Right-click on the Gio USB in Designer's Project View

  4. Choose "Map Physical Device"

  5. Select the appropriate device based on MAC address

Once mapped, you can load your design to hardware and go online.
