Loading a Project File Design to Hardware and Going Live

Edited

When your Xilica Designer Project is complete and you're ready to deploy it to hardware, follow these steps:

Loading Your Design

  1. In Network View, verify your devices are connected and online (showing a green ON indicator)

  2. Note the MAC address of each device

  3. Open your Project file

  4. For each device module:

    • Right-click > Map to Physical Device > select the appropriate device by MAC address

    • If uncertain which physical device corresponds to which MAC address, go to Network View, right-click the device block and select "Flash Front Panel" to identify it

  5. In Project View, click "Load Design to Device(s)" at the top-center of the work area

  6. In the confirmation window, ensure the correct devices are checked

  7. Once online, the work area becomes solid grey and Project View menus become unavailable

Saving Runtime Changes

If you make adjustments while online and want to save them back to your design file:

  1. Click "Switch Back to Design Mode" at the top of the work area

  2. Select "Yes" when asked to copy device parameters

  3. Your changes will be applied to your design

  4. You can now:

    • Add the new settings to a preset

    • Save as a new project via "File" > "Save As"

Automatic Backup

Solaro Series DSP automatically saves the project file to the DSP that contains the Project Scheduler when going online. This serves as a backup that can be retrieved from Device Setup (double-click the device icon in Network View).

Note that only the most recently loaded project is saved to the device, overwriting any previous files.
