Setting Up User-Defined Devices

  1. Locate the User Defined Device module in the Component Library

  2. Click and drag it onto your Project View workspace

  3. With the object highlighted, configure its properties in the Object Property menu:

    • Define inputs and outputs

    • Specify other device attributes

    • Customize appearance

Uses and Limitations

  • Documentation purposes:

    • Visual reference in Project View schematics

    • Inclusion in generated Bill of Materials

    • Representation in Blueprint drawings exported from Designer

  • Dante-enabled custom devices:

    • Select "User Defined Devices > Dante Enabled Device"

    • These can be mapped to Generic Dante modules

    • Allows you to define actual Dante channel routes when loading your program to hardware

  • Important note: Standard User Defined Devices cannot be mapped to physical devices and serve documentation purposes only
