Using Pre-Designed Templates for Xilica Solaro

Edited

Xilica provides ready-to-use project templates (.pjxml) for Solaro series DSP processors that speed up system configuration for common room scenarios. Templates are built and field-tested by Xilica engineers, are fully customizable, and include pre-built signal processing chains, user interfaces, and third-party device integrations.

What's Included in Templates

Depending on the template, you may get:

  • A complete signal flow with inputs, outputs, and processing (EQ, compression, AEC)

  • Pre-built XTouch user interface screens for room control

  • Follow Me auto camera tracking with PTZ preset recall

  • HearClear™ Acoustic Echo Cancellation for hybrid meetings

  • USB HID volume/mute sync for Microsoft Teams

  • Third-party device drivers (Lumens, Aver, Sennheiser TCC2, and other camera/microphone integrations)

Templates are open source — use them as-is for fast deployment, or open them in Project View and customize every block to match your installation.

How to Access and Load Templates

There are three ways to load a template, depending on where you are in your workflow.

Method 1: From the File Menu (Recommended for Room Templates)

  1. In Xilica Designer, go to File → Open Project Templates

  2. First-time users should select "Load Room Templates" to download the latest templates

  3. All available templates will appear in this menu

  4. Select the template that matches your microphone and room configuration

Method 2: During Initial Device Setup

  1. In Project View, drag a Solaro DSP module into your work area

  2. When the Device Option Configuration dialog appears, locate the "Select Design Template" section

  3. Browse the available pre-designed configurations

  4. If no templates are visible, click "Clear All Design Template Cache" followed by "Update All Design Templates"

  5. Select any template to view a preview and read its description

  6. Click "Ok" to load your selected design

  7. Double-click the Solaro device to explore the template

Method 3: Replacing an Existing Design

  1. In Project View, right-click on an existing Solaro device module

  2. Select "Import Device Designs from Template"

  3. Preview available templates and their descriptions

  4. Select your preferred template and click "Ok"

  5. Double-click the Solaro device to view the imported design

Important: Methods 2 and 3 will completely replace any existing configuration on the device. Save your current project before proceeding if you want to preserve your work.

Available Template Categories

Room Templates with Follow Me Camera Tracking

These are the most feature-rich templates, designed for hybrid classrooms and conference rooms with beamforming microphones and PTZ cameras. They include auto camera tracking, AEC, USB HID sync, and full room user interfaces with technician screens.

For a detailed walkthrough of installation, camera training, and configuration of these templates, see:

Basic DSP Templates

Simpler templates for standard audio processing applications — routing, mixing, EQ, and loudspeaker management — without camera tracking or advanced collaboration features.

After Loading a Template

  1. Map your hardware — In Network View, right-click each device and enter its IP address. Some devices (like beamforming microphones) may require two IP addresses (Dante and control).

  2. Load to devices — Click "Load Design to Device(s)" to push the template to your Solaro hardware.

  3. Customize — Open modules in Project View to adjust signal flow, levels, EQ, and device settings for your specific room.

  4. Save — Save your customized project file locally so you always have a backup.
