Troubleshooting Dante in the Xilica Designer Software
Xilica Designer integrates comprehensive Dante management and routing capabilities, allowing you to define audio routes between both Xilica devices and third-party Dante-enabled equipment from a single interface.
What to Expect When Working Correctly
In Designer's Network View, you'll see all Dante-enabled devices on your network:
Xilica devices display the Dante logo in the top right corner of their icon
Third-party Dante devices appear with their own distinct icons
Troubleshooting Steps When Dante Devices Don't Appear
Check Network Interface Selection
Open Designer's Dante View
Verify the appropriate network adapter is selected under "Network Interface to search for Dante Devices"
Verify with Dante Controller
Launch Dante Controller software
If devices don't appear, click the network icon (Choose a Dante Interface)
Select "Use shared Dante interface"
If devices appear in Dante Controller but not in Xilica Designer, return to Designer's Dante View, select the correct interface, and restart Designer
Check IP Configuration
If devices don't appear in either application, your computer's IP address may be outside the Dante network range
Set your computer to obtain an IP address automatically (DHCP)
Dante devices ship in DHCP mode by default
Reset Device IP Settings
Ensure Dante devices are set to DHCP or have compatible static IP addresses
To reset Xilica Solaro devices:
Locate the IP reset button (front panel on QR1, back panel on FR1)
With the device fully booted, press and hold for 10 seconds
This renews all IP settings and removes static addresses for both LAN and Dante ports
Direct Connection Test
If previous steps fail, directly connect your computer to the Dante port
Ensure both are set to DHCP
Both should revert to link-local addresses (169.254.x.x)
If these steps don't resolve the issue, contact Xilica Support for additional assistance.
