Performing a Solaro, Gio or Sonia firmware update
Back to Solaro SeriesTo ensure proper operation of a Xilica system, as well as interoperability with third-party devices, it is important to ensure that Xilica products are using the latest posted firmware.
Xilica Designer software provides a convenient method for determining if a device requires a firmware update, noted by an icon appearing in the Device Tile in Xilica Designer Network View:
To update firmware to a Solaro device:
- In Network View of the Xilica Designer software, right-click the icon of the device you wish to update and choose Firmware upgrade.
- After a warning that this update will erase any configuration currently loaded in the device, a pop-up window will prompt you to select the firmware. It's generally best practice to use the latest Designer software with the latest firmware available. (The firmware is automatically downloaded to the Designer software when connected to the internet and is managed under Device Management -> Device Firmware Manager.)
- Click "Ok" to proceed. The process will take a few minutes to complete and the device will reboot and come back online in Network View.
